ELA
ELA Skills & Objectives Explain the meaning of simple similes and metaphors (e.g., as pretty as a picture) in context. Accelerated Reader (AR) Students are required to read thirty minutes every night in order to reach their AR goal for the quarter. The students will receive a classwork and quiz grade based on their AR goal completion at the end of each quarter. Parents need to carefully monitor their child's AR progress throughout the school year. Research indicates that there is a strong correlation between a student's reading achievement and the time a student spends reading independently each day. As we know students that are readers are leaders! i-Ready Students must complete at least 45 minutes of weekly i-Ready lessons online in reading and math. Ms. Saumell and Mrs. Fadraga will be carefully monitoring each student's i-Ready progress. It is very important that these lessons are completed at home.
